Oprah revisits Williamson
Posted by admin on August 31st, 2010Hi fans!
Guys if you love to relive the old moments by watching The Oprah Winfrey Show full episodes online here, then you must remember there was a controversial episode, which was aired on November 1987.
Yup! The same episode in which Mike Sisco was invited, who is an open gay with AIDS. A controversy had erupted when the city pool was closed after Mike Sisco swam in it. This controversy was uncalled for, as people shouldn’t have reacted in that manner.
It is being said that Winfrey is returning to Williamson to see that how things have changed in these 23 years. I just admire Winfrey for her good deeds as there was no need to come back, but she did nevertheless. And if you also admire her in the same way, then download The Oprah Winfrey Show episodes from here and catch some of the amazing episodes of the show.
Moreover, Oprah’s team interviewed Pierce Whitt, owner of Starters Restaurant in Williamson and a former lifeguard. Whitt, once a recreational director was managing the swimming pool, field house and playgrounds in 1987. He was the one who decided to close the swimming pool.
The reason which Whitt gave for closing the pool was that it had ‘mechanical problems’, not necessarily because an AIDS-positive man swam in it. He further added that people in late 80’s were not aware of this disease, so they didn’t know that how it was transmitted.
Whitt went onto say, “Everybody here was afraid of AIDS at that time. They thought AIDS was the kiss of death.”

Further, Jerry Waters, former AM radio talk show host and Charleston firefighter said that crew of The Oprah Winfrey Show has interviewed him as well. He also revealed that the upcoming episode will filmed in the Williamson Field House with private audiences. However, he has no idea when the recording will take place.
Well, this episode will still take some time to air, but for the time being all her fans can relive the golden moments of The Oprah Winfrey Show by downloading its episodes from here.
